When Fashion Meets Healing: KLEOS+KLEA x Urban Zen at Tutto il Giorno

In the golden glow of a Hamptons sunset this summer, a serendipitous meeting sparked something extraordinary. Donna Karan, the visionary behind Urban Zen and iconic designer of Donna Karan and DKNY, and Tammy Demos, founder of KLEOS+KLEA, met for the first time. Within moments, Donna extended a spontaneous invitation to shoot Tammy and her daughter Sophia in her Summer/Fall Urban Zen collection. That evening wasn’t just about clothing, it was about connection, purpose, and shared vision.

Dressing and Addressing

As Donna styled the shoot, draping, tying, wrapping, and posing with her signature effortless elegance, Tammy saw more than fashion. She saw philosophy. What captivated Tammy was what happened in between the shots, the conversations.

Donna, known for her passion for design, spoke just as passionately about her desire to not only dress, but address. Address the growing crises in healthcare and education. This struck a deep chord with Tammy, whose own journey has led her to reimagine healthcare through the lens of skin health.

A Shared Vision for Natural Healing

For Tammy, skincare isn’t cosmetic, it’s cellular. It’s healthcare. After ditching synthetic ingredients, even in so-called "clean" skincare, Tammy embraced a radically natural approach, one that honored the skin’s microbiome, immunity, and intelligence. This transformation not only healed her own skin, but sparked the genesis of KLEOS+KLEA, a line free from fillers, stabilizers, texturizers, preservatives, free from anything that disrupts nature’s rhythm.

Donna was intrigued. As a lifelong advocate for healing the body through spiritual practices and holistic living, she found common ground in Tammy’s philosophy. Their shared belief in nature, intuition, and simplicity made their collaboration inevitable.

An Evening at Tutto il Giorno

Last week, that synergy came to life at Tutto il Giorno, Donna’s daughter Gabby Karan’s soulful restaurant in Sag Harbor, also home to Urban Zen. The evening unfolded in the restaurant’s garden, where tastemakers and close friends gathered. Guests sipped Aperol spritzes, nibbled on Tutto’s signature bites, and explored Donna’s "7 Easy Pieces,” a timeless philosophy on dressing that transitions from beach to boardroom.

The heart of the evening was an intimate Q&A hosted by Donna and Tammy. The conversation wove together the threads of skin health, design, spirituality, and healing. Donna shared her passion for alternative wellness and how aligned she felt with the KLEOS+KLEA mission. She even professed her love for the sculptural, sensuous design of the brand’s bottles.

Real Stories, Real Results

What followed was powerful. Clients of KLEOS+KLEA rose to share heartfelt testimonials. Carla Rae, Donna’s longtime friend, described how the products had transformed her skin’s texture and how she could never go back. Deborra-Lee Furness Jackman reflected on how they made her feel, not just look, better. And Stephanie Shnay shared that the products had healed her rosacea, something no other solution had done.

As the sun dipped low, the garden gathering transitioned into an intimate dinner in Tutto’s back room, a celebration of two women reshaping the future, through wellness, through beauty, through purpose. Donna and Tammy may come from different worlds, but their shared devotion to healing, body, mind, and spirit, is what made this evening unforgettable.

Two visionaries. One movement. And the beginning of something much bigger.
